Relay Ties: Heavy creosote retention (black) with four solid sides. Dry rot and plate cutting not permissible. Twisted ties not permissible. Finish splitting - not more than than half style - non more than ¼" in width - ane manner but and never penetrating the rail bearing surface area. Hairline splits can exist two or 3 mode. Checks shall be ¼" or less broad, not exceeding fifty percent (50%) of overall necktie length and not affecting ability to agree spike when in runway-bearing surface area. No anchor habiliment.

Relay Landscape Ties: (#two relay) Meets all the specifications for a #1 relay necktie. Light creosote retention (bleached gray).

#i Landscape Ties: A tie with at least three solid sides. 2 or three mode finish splitting is okay, only no more than than ½" in width. Minor dry rot is permissible. Plate cut - ane" or less in depth merely non rotted out.

#two Mural Ties: A tie with at least two solid sides. Surface rot, 1" end splitting, rot at plate surface area permissible.

#3 Landscape Ties: A tie with at least ane solid side. Splits to 18" deep and one" wide. Heavy dry rot only generally retains the basic shape of a necktie.

#4 Mural Ties: A necktie with no expert side. Extreme dry out rot.
Splits to 48" deep and ii" wide.
